t's rare to see fashion that's both seriously smart and seriously stylish. But that's where JF & SON begins. The New York-based line first launched in 2007 and features beautiful hand-constructed garments for the consumer who truly appreciates them. Designers Jesse Finkelstein and Katie King say their work is rooted in using traditional methods to achieve modern ends. "We're a vertically integrated company," says Jesse. "We do all of our own beading, embroidery, and production in-house, so every garment is made with the highest quality." Sartorially, that translates into one-of-a-kind sculpted jackets, lattice-print pants, and hand-woven silk that is pleated to create texture we can't seem to get enough of.
The Goods: Eschewing Liberace sparkles the duo focused on integrating embellishment in a modern, wearable way. The result: pieces so heavy with handiwork that they could easily pass for couture.
