ituated on Thompson, an old-school SoHo block that's least likely to double as a catwalk, is Jordan Silver and Erik Sacher's year-old optical boutique, Silver Lining. "We're like tailors for eyewear. People come in for the perfect fit," says Sacher. He and Silver opened the petite but handsome space with the intention of filling the void in the dwindling opticians market while reviving the old-world feel of a friendly neighborhood shop. Inside, customers will find a clean, relaxed space appointed with a dark-wood display case and sleek but comfy leather seating. An inviting atmosphere for passionate eye-wear enthusiasts or for those just looking to pop in and try some frames on for size.

The Goods: A full selection of covetable frames from independent designers including, Oliver Goldsmith of London and Anglo American. Men's, women's, and children's frames from Silver's incredible archive of more than 6,000 never-worn vintage frames, including 500 one-of-a-kind items from lables like Persol and Balenciaga.
